Pastor Josiah and Cassi grew up in the church, and their experience has taught them to believe in both the beauty and the dormant potential of the church in America. 

The decision to plant Image Church came out of a season of daily prayer. Beginning in 2021, God’s answer to the desire to plant a church was clear and consistent: “Be patient and wait.” For three years they felt led to pray for other people starting a church or ministry. Then, the Summer of 2024 came with an overwhelming number of confirmations that the time to plant is now. They believe it is through prayer that God has prepared them to lead a healthy church. 

Josiah is a Bible-nerd who loves to teach others to expand their Biblical imagination. While pursuing his Masters degree at Trinity Bible College, he was deeply influenced by the life of the early church. That study—combined with current stories of disciple-making movements around the world—sparked the conviction to plant a church centered on Jesus' original plan to make disciples.

Cassi is able to make every moment meaningful, especially for families and kids. She has 9 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in the public schools, and 3 years experience as a director for a large kids ministry. 

The Van Ravenhorst family loves board games, camping, reading, coffee, and quiet mornings to study and pray. Their three boys, Clay, Mac, and Rhodes, bring energy and fun wherever they go.
